The Territorial Census would have been for all that land that wasn't a State. I don't remember just how big it was. I found it in a special Census book that was with the regular Census indexes because I copied it onto one of those Census reports sheets. I imagine it would take in Kansas , Nebraska & Iowa. I'll have to look it up. I am very interested in these Iowa Dinwiddies too. I am trying to track down 14 children that belonged to my Gr x 4 grandfather in Scott Co., KY. I have a note that two of his daughters may have lived there at one time. I haven't had too much luck with finding anything on Iowa. Friends say that they are very helpful in the libraries & court houses, but I haven't had a chance to go there in person. I live in MO and would think that we would have alot of Iowa records, but I haven't found it so.
Another possibility is a line of Dinwiddies that lived in NE corner of MO. It isn't that far from Lee Co., IA.I don't know anything about them either.
I'll see what else I can find and let you know.
