Okay, it definitely sounds like a match. Here's what I have on John Wesley and Almina (Laswell) Dinwiddie's sons: --William H. b. abt. 1855 probably Indiana --John Wesley, Jr. b. abt. 1859 likely Indiana (source: 1860 US census IN Vermillion Clinton John W. household) --Charles M. b. abt. 1861 - d. 1 Jan 1863 in Vermillion Co. (source: database of one of my cousins - not in 1860 census listing) John Wesley, Jr. had a daughter, Elizabeth (no source cited... family information I received ages ago) So, your "John H." could be either of these two surviving sons, right? Could be the "W." was just transcribed incorrectly as "H." by Larry Smith...? You'd need to see the marriage document. Or you could request a look-up in the 1880 US census for Vermillion Co.for the newly married couple. William H. would've been abt. 22 in 1877 and John W. would've been abt. 18...... both seem young to be taking a 2nd wife, don't you think? Or maybe not for those days. Good luck, and if you can, please let me know what you turn up on "John H." We would be distantly related, wouldn't we? --Paula in Texas Notify Administrator about this message?
