Joyce, I've been searching for Sarah's family off and on for about 3 years, and did run into a Henry, along with several other Dinwiddie names, but with no idea which one/ones were connected to my Sarah/Sally. I have none of the information you posted, so I thank you for that, and I went to some of the other messages you have posted on Dinwiddies, and I am humbled by the amount of research you have done. I am definitely a novice! If I am reading you correctly: Thomas, James and William Dinwiddie, (b.c. 1696) were 3 brothers who came from Ulster; along with Sarah Dinwiddie, widow of David Dinwiddie, the 4th brother; Sarah and David's 3 sons Hugh, David, and William; There was also William, son of Thomas; William, b. 1745, son of William (who also had sons Henry, b. 1735 <my ancestor you think> and James, b. 1740. I found a lot of Dinwiddie names in VA and wondered if I was incorrect about Sarah being born in Orange Co NC> I can find no birth record, or marriage record. I do have some court records from Maury Co TN showing her as widow of James Freeland. I have looked briefly at Tyler's Quarterly vols. 15 and 16....WOW... I only hope I can digest all the info. I have not yet found a connection from Sarah to Henry. Perhaps I missed it. I am very grateful for the direction and your information. LEAD ON. pjs Notify Administrator about this message?
