It's incorrect to say scotland or ireland this name is also quit english. and when you go there its also in germany france scandinavia.
there seems to a split at the cromwell times when the catholics stayed with mary queen of scotsand went to scotland this is the hitory i'de love to find, and the protestants stayed in england. then the scots were lowland catholics not a good place to be. kinda like being black in georgia in 1855. from what i gather from searching some dennings went to ireland with their lords [forbes i bet] to longsford and leitrim. this happened since most were stone masons. when the scot irish protestants left some came to chelsea ma. the protestant line already made it america in 1630s. the catholics where again left unprotected in ireland lords gone. they and some protestant and naitive irish took part in the 1798 ballymuck rebellion. this is where most of the irish dennings disappear and about the time they reappear in chelsea,ma. probably they were exciled
i have 2500 mass dennings which for the pages sake includes all the variables dennen dinan dinning dinnin danning dinnen dennan denune denney dinihy dennington ect
does anyone have where we split on the mary queen of scots question
