Jacob Dinkle, son of Jacob and Elizabeth Dinkle, married Harriet S. Davenport in Nelson County 25 Feb 1849. She was the daughter of Chappel Davenport and Nancy Camden. In the 1850 Rockingham census the family is shown: Jacob Dinkle, age 70, hotel keeper Elizabeth, age 68 Jacob, age 24, farmer Harriet, age 23 In the 1860 Rockingham census the family is shown: Jacob Dinkle, age 38 Harriet, age 37 James Camden, 12 (nephew) Dewitt Dinkle, 4 months Evidently, Harriet died before 1870 and Jacob married his niece, Nancy W. Camden. They are shown in the 1870 Rockingham census: Jacob Dinkle, age 47, farmer Nancy, age 24 Flora, age 2 Irene, age 7 months They are shown in the 1880 Augusta census: Jacob Dinkle, age 57, farmer Nancy, age 34 Luticia J., age 10 Dewitt, age 9 Chappel D., age 7 Flora C., age 5 Mary E. V., age 3 Clifford B., age 1 In Bedford Co. on 6 December 1888, Jacob's widow Nannie W. Dinkle, age 42, married John H. Falls. She and Flora are shown in the 1910 Bedford census. Is anyone out there descended from this family? Can anyone verify that Jacob Dinkle, widower married Nancy W. Camden? I am researching the Camden family. Any help will be appreciated.
