Hi Laura;
I too, am a family member, with my "Daniel Dinkle"
born at Lancaster, York Co., Pennsylvania. My forefather was born 4 JAN 1779, and was chr.- at the Lutheran Church at Dover, York Co. Penn. He died 18 Jul 1854 at Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Penn.
His records and family can be found in "The Meyer family," book. It was published in 1878 and reprinted in 1968.
It is a history of the Mayer family from the "Free City' of Ulm in the Danube river, east of Wertenberg, (now) Germany. It Covers from 1495 to 1878. The Mayer family and allied families had a major part of the building of railroads in our country.
My Daniel is found at pages 79 thru 83 in the book, of which I have a copy. And would send photocopies to anyone desiring them.
Dinkle, I am told is a Swiss name, in or near Basel-land.
