Dinkles John Sr. & Jacob Sr.
Any one who might be interested, or have anything to add (please!) might want this. It's not much, but it's pretty much all I know about the Dinkles of my family.
John Sr. and Jacob Sr. Dinkle were sons of German noblemen. They were sent to this country to escape the German army. They came to Shenandoah Valley (VA) from Pennsylvania and founded "Dinkletown", now known as Bridgewater. John was a miller and ran a flour mill. His son, Jacob owned a large farm south of Bridgewater in the small village of Mt. Salon.
The rest of the letter mostly pertains to Long family. Does anyone know if Jacob had a daughter named Laura Dinkle? Has any one heard of Dinkletown? The letter also stated that the German name was Dunkle which I find to be true from reading messages from others.
