M. Thomas Dinkins married Louisa G. Talley in Upson County, GA on 23 Dec 1855. While much is known about this Tom Dinkins'service in the CSA and of his and Louisa's descendants, I'm not sure his parentage has ever been established. One possibility is a male child that would match the then four-year-old M. Thomas Dinkins in the household of one Isham Dinkins in Houston County, GA in the 1840 census. Isham Dinkins was a notorious character with ties to Regulators from South Carolina, who may have been hanged for attempted murder or some such. If anyone has established Thomas Dinkins' actual parentage, I would appreciate hearing from them.
