Hullo Jean. The census is a count of the population of the U.K. and has been taken every year since 1841. The years 1841 to 1891 are on microfilm in Inverness library.
There is also Old Parish Records some going
back to 1500s.I will get you an adress in
Liverpool to contact.The census in Inverness
are only for the Highlands but I found out yesterday they have OPRs for Liverpool so here are two births that might be of intrest.
Alexander Dingwall-Agnes. Ann born 21/3/1849.
St.Peter Parish Liverpool.
