Hello Robin,

Your Rory is my great great great grandfather. Rory-Donald(to Nfld.)-Aaron-S Wesley-D Bruce-me. Rory might have come from the Sound of Harris in the Outer Hebrides where there were Dingwalls at the time (and still today). Amongst the signs pointing to this like are the family anecdote that Rory´s son Donald (my great-great grandfather) was 1st cousin to the Cape Breton giant (known to have been born in the Sound of Harris) and named McAskill.
