I came across your post by chance yesterday and was astonished to find details of many of my relatives. It seems that I am a direct descendant of Alexander Dingwall & Anne MacRae and the following brief details will show the connection:
My name is George Maitland McIntosh born 13/3/50 at Milngavie Glasgow. My brother Donald Dingwall McIntosh was born 30/7/44 also in Glasgow. Our parents were John McIntosh and May Davidson Diggens who were married by the Rev Evan Grant in Glasgow on 8/4/42. My father was born at the UF Church Manse in Fort William on 18/5/08 and had two sisters - Marion Grant McIntosh and Margaret Maclennan McIntosh both of whom married without issue. Their parents were Rev John McIntosh and Annie MacRae Dingwall. I always knew of the family connection back to Rev Ronald Dingwall, Aultbea, but until yesterday I had no idea of the connection back to Killearnan although this has now filled in a lot of pieces of this amazing jigsaw! By co-incidence (and this is another story) I am typing this from my office in Dingwall where I have worked since moving from Glasgow 1977 without any knowledge of this connection. If you are interested I will be very happy to supply more information, as my brother has a number of birth certificates and artefacts relating to some of the people mentioned in your post. I also have in my possession a family tree for the Patersons going back before Culloden and forward to the 1940's, and this shows a link to the MacRaes, but I had not realised the significance of this until now.
