I asked this question in the Hebrides two years ago and got the answer that there was no Gaelic version of Dingwall. The word is Germanic, referring to the old Germanic council or meeting of elders, the Thing (in modern German). The word came to Scotland with the Vikings. You can find a Thingvellir in Iceland.
