Hi - this all sounds very interesting. Someone had sent me a copy of a death notice for Christina Dingwall who died February 2,1872. She dies in Crawfords Close in Dingwall. Her father was Alexander Urquhart and her mother was Jessie McKenzie. Informant of her death was her granddaughter Helen Douglas. However, my Christina Urquhart supposedly married William Dingwall. Do you think he was William Alexander or Alexander William Dingwall? It's very hard to track people down when they all have the same names!!!! Here's my scenario: William Dingwall (Parents, date of birth and place of birth unknown) married Christina Urquhart (daughter of Alexander Urquhart and jessie McKenzie). William was supposedly a farmer. I have no info on his death. But his wife's death I mentioned above. The only child I know of that they had is William Dingwall born 1834 in Gairloch, Wester Ross - and maybe a sister Christina. The William born in 1834 married Marion McRae of Tarbat, Harris Inverness Feb.1863 at Neschesbee in Harris. At that time the younger william lived at Finsbay Harris. His father's name was William and his mother was Christina Dingwall (nee Urquhart) Their son William born 1873 was my grandfather and he came to Cape Breton. There now - I feel like I've gone to confession - and I don't know how that feels as I'm protestant. (Just kidding around)...... Anyway, I will wait to hear more from you. There are so many towns and parishes and it gets all so confusing not to mention the confusion with names. Regards from Cape Breton - Valerie.
