Hi there, I posted this to another page but I figured that I would add this here as well .. Hope it helps.. if you have any information on Mills Parents I would greatly appreciate it.. I have a line of dingman's who descend through a Cornelius and Johannes Dingman.. and I can't find the connection to these dingman's though they're buried next to my family.. Let me know if you can help.. if you go to findagrave.com I've posted gravestone images for the children that I could find. Most of the boys served their country in one form or the other. Mills and Charlotte are buried in Stuyvesant falls Cemetery, along with Minnie, Frank, Raymond, john and Claude. Their son Elmer is buried in Suffolk County in the Long Island National Cemetery in section N. Okay here's the total information I know. I am looking to connect this line of the Dingman's in with my line and haven't been able to do that yet, although these dingman's are buried next to my great grandfather? I don't know.. but here's everything.. Mills and Charlotte had 11 children, ten of which were alive in 1910 (the 1900 census states that Charlotte was the mother of ten children, ten living.. so the missing child was born after John between 1900 and 1910). The children that I know of are as followed: Mills (Oct 1846-1915), Charlotte (May 1848-1923). Children: Sarah (abt May 1870), Minnie (Sept 1873-1952), Maria (abt 1879), Charlotte (Feb 1883-?), Frank M (Nov 1883-1959), Hulda (Fev 1885-?), Raymond (June 1887- 1963), Elmer Andrew (Dec 18, 1888-Jan 10 1952), Claude (Feb 1890-1950), John H (June 1892-1962) (I don't know who the 11th child was because it didn't survive long enough to make a census.. Of the dingman graves that I have, I don't have any "baby" graves.. so if there was an 11th child it wasn't buried in Stuyvesant Falls.. There are a lot of other dingman's buried in Chatham cemeteries.. I'll have to spend some time going through that cemetery when it gets warmer).. But other information that I have.. 1870- Family is living in Stockport,Columbia NY. Mills (24), Charlotte (22), and Sarah (1/12) 1880- Family is living in Rossmans Mills, Columbia, NY. Mills (32), Chlotte (30), Sarah (10), Minnie (6), Maria (1) 1890- Was distroyed 1900- Family is living in Stockport, Columbia, NY. Mills, Charlotte, Minnie, Charlotte, Frank, Hulda, Ray, Elmer, Claude, John H 1910- Family is living in Stockport, Columbia, NY. Mills (63), Charlotte (61), Minnie (35), Frank (24), Huldah (22), Ray (21), Claude (20), John (17) 1920- Family is living in Stockport, Columbia, NY. Mills is dead. Charlotte, Minnie, Frank M, Raymond, Claude A, John H 1930- Family is living in Stockport, Columbia, NY. Charlotte is dead. Minnie (56), Frank M(46), Raymond(42), Claude A(39), John H(36). There are world war one draft records for Raymond which indicate his DOB is 6/28/1887. He was a private in World War 1. His gravestone says:"PVT Raymond Dingman. Co G 307 INF World War 1 1887-1963" There are world war one draft records for Frank which indicate his middle name was mills and his actual DOB was 22 Nov 1883. Occupation listed as a Farmer, with next of kin listed as his mother, Charlotte. Claude's gravestone says "PVT Claude A Dingman, CO D, Div 151, DER BR".. I don't know exactly what all that means.. the photo I have has a shadow on it and it makes the inscription hard to read. According to the census information it looks like Mills worked in the local paper mill/factory? The 1900 Census states that Mills and Charlotte were married for 31 years.. Which would make them married in 1869 Which works out great for the dates of their children..Their oldest Sarah was born May of 1870 so I would assume that Charlotte was a summer bride, probably Late june or early July based on the date Sarah would have had to of been conceived. I think that's all I have.. I'm not entirely sure.. Do you know who Andrew's parents were? Or for that matter Andrew's birthday information.. I think that I was thinking he was born some where around 1814 based on the census information that I found for him and HULDA. I have a gravestone of an Andrew Dingman but it's so old that it's worn and didn't photograph well and when I was taking the picture I was losing light so I didn't take the time to write down the information on the stone. But I'm not to far from Stuyvesant falls so I'll probably go back up there in March or so when the snow melts down a bit. Please get back to me when you get a minute, I'd love to know any information that will help me to continue on my search! Thanks! Michele Notify Administrator about this message?
