It's usually Dingman in Upper Canada, they were descended from the Dutch Dingman family of Kinderhook NY.Bay of Kenty was a 19th century spelling variation - it's Bay of Quinte on the north shore of Lake Ontario.Dingmans settled in that area in the late 18th and early 19th century. Most people when saying they came from Bay of Quinte/Kenty meant Prince Edward County, the peninsula to the south of the town of Belleville. As in the USA this often got confused with Prince Edward Island - people would say Bay of Quinte instead.
