Joan DINGLEY/b: prob. Bet. 1510-15/mistress/Henry VIII, (King of England)
Hello,
I am looking for more information on the family of and the person of:
Joan DINGLEY/DYNGLEY, born:prob. Bet. 1510-1515, whom, according to some research, was the mistress of Henry VIII, (King of England,) and they were the biological parents of a woman named Ethelreda "Audrey" DINGLEY/DYNGLEY and that the tailor of King Henry VIII who was named John MALTE was made to acknowledge Ethelreda "Audrey" as his illegitimate daughter.Ethelred "Audrey" DINGLEY/DYNGLEY was born in the late 1520's. Her mother, Joan DYNGLEY/DINGLEY, a royal laundress, was married off to a man named DOBSON, (I haven't seen a first name for him yet.)
Ethelreda (or Audrey) took the surname MALTE and I presume under the name of Ethelreda MALTE or Audrey MALTE married John HARRINGTON in 1547.
King Henry VIII is said to granted lands to Ethelreda who died between 1555-1559 and her husband, John HARRINGTON, remarried in 1559 and inherited all the lands Henry VIII had granted to Ethelreda "Audrey" DINGLEY/DYNGLEY/ aka DOBSON/aka MALTE/Mrs. John HARRINGTON.
And, in addition, I am interested in another mistress of King Henry VIII who was named Mary BERKELEY and their biological son, Thomas STUKELEY/STUCLEY/STUCKEY, born:Abt. 1525, died:1578, who married an Anne CURTIS but I have no more information about her and her family nor do I have any information about whether or not Thomas and Anne had children.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who has more information on this in general and on the DINGLEY/DYNGLEY family specifically.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bellinda Myrick - Barnett
