Kristin, Yes, T.R. Bates and I have done individual and conbined research and shared with anyone interested. He recently had a house fire and lost everything. Hopefully he will be able to piece his research back together as people with whom he has shared with respond to his need. You mentioned that you are a descendant of Mary E. Is that relationship through James Allen Bates (1859-1918), James Thomas Bates (1864-1950), or Calvin Ferguson (b. bet 1868-1884)? These are the only 3 children that we are aware she had. Mary E. married John W. Ferguson after the death of her first husband Marion Bates in Ashley Co., AR 9 Jan 1868(Bk AA, p. 291). Calvin was born to them between 1868 and 8 Feb 1884 (death date of Mary E.). She is buried in the New Troy Cemetery, Drew Co., AR. My GG grandfather, Dr. William P. Chambers donated the land to start the cemetery since he owned that land and adjacent acreage. Her marker lists her as (wife of M.E. Ferguson). We believe this is in error. After the death of Mary E. we have been told that John W. remarried and they along with Calvin moved to Texas. No other information on this family. Dr. Chambers' mother was Ann Ferguson Dixon. Don't know if there is a relationship between Ann and John W. We have much more information to share.
