I am seeking any information on my great grandfather Herman Dingler (b:Dec 31,1866/d:April 15,1935). I know that he married Bertha Schroeder (b:Dec 31,1871/d: April 15,1935 - yes both were born and died on the same day) in Chicago Ill., August 4th, 1893. I believe that I have most of their information (children, etc) after this point (although any other info would help). From our family bible I have learned that his father was John Dingler who married Louisa Kaltinbach. That is all that is known at this point. I have been informed that Herman was from West Prussia and Bertha was from Pommern. They met in Chicago and had 7 of their 12 children there. His father lived and died in Germany, due to family knowledge of them going back over to Germany to attend to family affairs and the funeral. They came back in 1907. Our branch of the Dingler family is now at a stand still on information. If anyone knows of when Herman came over to America and with possibly who before finding his wife and marrying her in Chicago I would be extremely greatful.
