I have learned the following about my Dingle Family. My father was James Edward Dingle. He supposedly was the 12th child born of Patrick Dingle and Mary Anne Mathews. He was born in New York City (Manhatten Borough) on January 5 or 7, 1907. Four other siblings were born in NYC. One was my uncle Tommy Dingle. There was a oldest daughter, Margaret (Margey) Dingle who was born in Ireland. She was about 2 years when her parents emigrated with her to New York city. On my father's birth certificate there is reference to 6 more siblings who either had nor survived or had not emigrated. I am interested in learning about what happened to them. His father, Patrick Dingle, may have been from Drogheda, Ireland. He was born in Ireland on July 20, 1865. His father was named Peter Dingle and his mother was Margaret Fitzpatrick. Patrick died in New York City ca 1919. His wife, Mary Anne Mathews came from County Meath in Ireland. I am also interested in tracing the ancestors and descendents of my great-grandparents, Peter Dingle and Margaret Fitzpatrick. Besides Patrick, they had at least one other son, Christopher Dingle, who was alive in the 1940s when my father (Christopher's nephew) met him during WW II. Christopher was or had been Post Master General of Dublin, Ireland according to my father, James E. Dingle. Any assistance that others may provide will be appreciated.
