According to our family records, Sophia Dynes (Dines is a common misspelling found in older records) was the daughter of Chambers Dynes (1770-1857)and Somilia Cole. Sophia's grandparents were Francis Dynes and Mary Chambers who are said to have come from Ireland in 1770. They lived in Maryland until at least 1783. Chambers, their oldest son, moved to Kentucky and later to Ohio. William, a younger brother of Chambers, moved to Ohio a few years later and is my third generation great-grandfather.
