My maternal grandmother was Amy Dines b. 1902, one of 11 children of Thomas Dines and Martha Stutters (his first wife m.1882) and Emma Stutters (his second 'partner' and Martha’s daughter from a previous relationship). Other siblings were Beatrice, Frank, Percy, Cyril, Reginald, Walter, Thomas, Ernie, Hettie and George. As far as I know, all were born in Colchester, Essex, but I don't have dates.

Thomas and Martha lived in Childwell Alley, Colchester at the time of the 1891 census, whilst the 1881 census shows Martha in the Union Workhouse, Colchester, with Emma and brother Frederick.

Thomas was born c.1858 in Colchester (or possibly Marks Tey) and was, I believe, the son of Joseph Dines b. 1829 in Greenstead and Hannah.

Hope this is of interest.
