Thanks for the information, even though it adds to the confusion associated with this family.

In the 1850 LaSalle County, IL census, Salisbury Township, there is a Laurence W. Dimmick listed as age 37, farmer from PA and wife Cynthia age 36 also from PA. Children listed are Othello J. age 10 born IL and Emily age 4 born IL.

My husband's great-grandmother, Emily Demmick Daniels, in a written family history stated that her parents were Cynthia Jenks and Lawrence Woodward Demmick. According to her, the family moved to IA when she was a young girl. I have not found a Lawrence/Laurence Demmmick or Dimmick in IA. But Emily shows up in 1870 with her husband Lemuel Daniels.

In Emily's obit, it states that she was born in LaSalle County, IL and moved with her family to Butler County, IA when she was a young girl. It also says that she had a brother (no name) surviving her that was living in Cedar Falls, IA. Emily Demmick Daniels died in 1934 in Shattuck, Ellis County, OK and is buried in Gage, Ellis County, IA.

I have found an LDS listing for a Laurence Dimmick born 3 Aug 1813 in Wayne County, PA, parents Issac Dimmick and Ester Woodward. There is an Issac Dimmick that shows up in the 1860 and 1870 Butler County, IA census who was born in PA.
