George Edward Dimock's rare book collection was given to Smith College by his daughter-in-law, Imogen K. Dimock. Most of his books contain information about the date he acquired them and the price (in code) that he paid. A few were gifts, with the donor's initials noted; one in particular was a gift from "J. M. D." who was, I assume, a relative. I'd be grateful for the identification of J. M. D.
