Phillip Trapnall DIMMITT was born in KY, 1800. He was working for his uncle James DIMMITT who shipped hemp from Mason County, KY to New Orleans by flatboat. On the occasion of his getting to Texas, he was told by his Uncle that once the business was transacted he would be allowed to keep whatever money they received for the boat. That happened in 1822. Once in New Orleans, Phillip decided to continue on the Texas which was still a part of Mexico. He became a Mexican citizen and maried Maria Louisa LAZO in 1828. In 1829 he applied for a land grant and received it ... a league for him, as head of household and 1/4 league for his wife. (end part one)
