Sidney, this is taken from an old word processor document that I made several years ago. I think that it is all intact, but am not sure... The old document was saved in an ascii format, and didn't open cleanly in my computer. I will check to see if any part of the document is missing. If it is, I will post another entry in this forum.

William Dimmett is located on the Wilkes County North Carolina 1830 Census Report Page #334

William was born on the 2nd day of September 1782, in Rowan County, North Carolina. William married Stacy Walker on the 13th day of January 1802, in Rowan County, NC also. Stacy was born in Maryland, in the year of 1783. William died on the 1st day of February 1854, and Stacy died in 1856, both in Warrick County, Indiana. They are both buried at Floyd Cemetery, in Owen Township, Warrick County, Indiana.

Listed on the Floyd Cemetery index, in Owen Township, Warrick County, Indiana.

Listed on the 1830 Census within William and Stacy's household are the following persons:

Either Alfred or Joel, sons of William and Stacy, were the first of the Dimmett clan to move into Indiana, sometime during the 1840'S. By 1850, William and Stacy, and several other members of their family, had also moved into Indiana. Other children of William and Stacy's were found in Independence County, Arkansas, in 1860. By 1870, more of the North Carolina Dimmett’s had moved into Indiana, including most of the ones who had resided in Independence Co. Arkansas on the 1860 census.
