Although I reply to an old post it might still be of use. The Archie Dimmett I know of from research had a twin sister that died young. Their parents were William David Dimmett (b. 1843-d.1922)and Eliza Ann Gassaway (or Gasaway)(b.1849-d.1918). William David was the elder brother of my Great Grandfather Burton Swebstant Dimmett. Their parents were Alfred Dimmett ((b. 1816 Yaskin, N.C.)and Mary Eva Walker (father was William Walker; mother Charity ?.) Alfred is, I believe, a descendent of John Broad Dimmett. Alfred and Mary Eva had at least 8 children; the first four were girls and the last four were boys: William David, Burton S., Columbus E., and Overton Lafayette Dimmett. (P.S. William David seems to have had a son named Burton, b.1871, as well as the twins Archie and, I think, Ada (the sister that died early).
