Seeking ancestry of Richard Beal Dimmitt, b. ca 1771, d. 1 Jun 1845 in Highland County Ohio. He married, 25 Jul 1805, Sarah Eskridge, daughter of Captain George Eskridge and Nelly Harvey. They had eight children, all born in Hampshire County, Virginia.

The children were:
1. Beal Harvey Dimmitt, b. 28 Nov 1806.
2. Burch Swann Dimmitt, b. 11 Jan 1808.
3. William Ball Dimmitt, b. 28 Mar 1809.
4. Lucea Ellen Dimmitt, b. 3 Nov 1810.
5. James Shearer Dimmitt, b. 1 Oct 1812.
6. Evaline Jane Dimmitt, b. 27 Dec 1815.
7. Mary Ann Dimmitt, b. 27 Dec 1815.
8. Augusta Rebecca Dimmitt, b. 17 May 1817.

Richard Beal Dimmitt may have been a son of William Dimmitt and Dorothy Swann, daughter of Burch Swann of Baltimore County, MD. William and James Dimmitt were listed in the 1790 census of that county. However, I have not found proof of Richard's parentage.
