For anyone interested in the Josiah and Deborah Dillon family, I found a new tidbit of information. There is a mention in the Goose Creek Monthly Meeting minutes that Deborah Dillon (now Best) married out of unity June 29 1795.I thought this was likely Josiah's widow because of the timing and then I found this wonderful piece of information in the chancery records:In the case of Nicholas Osborne et al vs. Moses Dillon et al, James Best is deposed and the plaintiff asks Best the following question: "did you not intermarry with the widow of the late Josiah Dillon mother to Daniel Dillon one of the defendants and executor to his father Josiah?" He answered yes!
This case is a boundary dispute between Osborne and the heirs of brothers James and Josiah Dillon and it makes very interesting reading.Check it out - http://www.lva.virginia.gov/chancery/full_case_detail.asp?CFN=107-1809-005#imghttp://www.lva.virginia.gov/chancery/full_case_detail.asp?CFN=107-1809-005#img
