Looking for the parents of John Dillon b. abt 1900
of Forsyth Co., N.C. He was married to Blanche Veach.
This is the obit for his daughter, Norma Stafford Dillon
STAFFORD Mrs. Norma Dillon Stafford, 85, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007. Until recently, Norma lived on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem for 50 years. She was known by all as a gracious, loving lady of considerable elegance who greatly cherished both her close and extended family. Norma was her daughter' s best friend and was also extremely close to her grandchildren, and she loved nothing more than to share extensive warm conversations on into the evening with those close to her heart. She so enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Bill Stafford, who died in 2001. Their marriage was a special one. She worked for AT&T until retirement in 1985. She was born on Aug. 5, 1922, to her parents, Blanch Veach and John W. Dillon. Mrs. Stafford is survived by her only child, Jo Ann Stafford Peer, and her husband Gerard "Joddy" Peer of Charlotte; her granddaughters, Jordan Stafford Peer of New York City and Hadley Peer Marshall and her husband, Edward Adger Marshall, and baby grandson Robert Jordan Marshall, all of New York City. Norma is also survived by her special sisters, Det Stevens and Helen Byrd; and many loving nieces and nephews. She enjoyed a close family that included brothers Orville Dillon and Gilmer Dillon; and her sister Dot Gross, all deceased. At 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, a service will be held at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, 2715 Darrow Road, Walkertown, where she was a longstanding member. At the conclusion, the family invites friends to join them at the Family Life Center for refreshments to celebrate the beautiful life of this lovely person. Donations may be made to Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, 2715 Darrow Road, Walkertown, NC 27051. Hayworth-Miller is serving the family.
