Hi Richard
I am interested in a solicitor by the name of John Knight Boswell Dillon who migrated to New South Wales(NSW), Australia from Dublin around the late 1830's. Apparently he practised at Arran Quay, Great Brunswick St. and
also Middle Gardiner St in Dublin (he was my 3Xgreat grandfather). He then practised in Sydney and Port Macquarie NSW. His son was named John Charles Dillon (born c1827) and this leads me to think that they could possibly be related to your Charles Dillon, solicitor in Dublin.
The Dillon name seems to be heavily represented in the field of Law in Dublin around this time (early 1800's).In Wilson's Dublin Directory of 1835, there is a Charles Dillon, attorney listed with the address 30 Arran Quay. In 1808 there is a John Dillon, attorney, and 1824 J.Dillon listed at this same address.
Any further info gratefully received,
Cheers, Angela C.
