Has anyone found any more information on Nicholas Dilman who was born: 18 Apr 1786 in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, USA?
We all know he came to Canada before 1812 and married Mary M Bogart (b. 11 Dec 1795 in Pennsylvania, USA) and we have their 4 children as: Mary Ann b. 09 Feb 1815, John b. 1817, Elisha b. 02 Aug 1824 and Michael b. ?, (all b. in Whitchurch Twp, York Co, Ontario, Canada)but has anyone found who Nicholas's parents were? Did he have any siblings? Aunts? Uncles?
I think his father could have been William and he may have had a brother or Uncle named John but have no proof.
I found information on a John Dilman that traveled into the Upper Canada area around 1790 with 3 other men (Kolb being one). These men were Mennonites from PA but then the article goes on to talk about the other men and nothing about John Dilman. Could this John be related to our Nicholas?
Anyone have any thoughts?
