looking for advice for where to start

I'm looking to begin researching my family tree, specifically the Dillman side. My grandfather and great aunt would always change the subject when anyone would ask them anything about their parents or other family members, so I pretty much know nothing other than their names. I was able to get their parents names from their death certificates.

My grandfather was Charles Richard Dillman born in 1911 and died in 1994

My great aunt (his sister) was Kathyrne Dahlke born in 1906 and died in 2006
Both were born in Ohio.

Their parents names were Pete Dillman and Mary Stair.
Outside of being told they had German accents I know nothing about them.

Any information and advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
