I am also from a Canadian Dillman family. (on my mom's side) Mine are all in Ontario, so far. The farthest back I have is Peter Ellis Dillman who was born Nov. 30, 1854 in PA, USA. He married Sarah Catherine English, and they lived in Newmarket, Ont. One of their 5 children, Robert Bernard Dillman, was my great grandfather.
It appears that the Dillmans on my side were usually from large families. My mom, Elsie May Dillman, was the 3rd oldest of 11, her dad, Harold Bruce Dillman was the 3rd oldest of 9.
If you are interested in some of the Dillmans from Ontario, let me know I will be happy to share information with you.
Do you know when your Dillman family came to Nova Scotia, or where they came from? I have always been told that Dillman was german. (Dielman, Diehlman maybe?) I would like to know more about your Dillman family.
