Your posting included two names which caught my eye, John and Lydia, but I'm unsure of a connection.

My gggrandfather, William V Arrasmith, claimed his parents were John Arrasmith and Lydia Dillman. I have yet to find much on Lydia. What I know is: b 20 Apr, 1800, Kentucky, d 2 Jun, 1863, Rock Island Co, Illinois, m John bef 1828. Does your info about John W Dillman and Lydia Rhorer include a Lydia Dillman marrying an Arrasmith?

The 'V' of William Arrasmith's name stood for Vachel, apparently not coming from the Arrasmith side. Is there a Vachel Dillman to be found here?
