I'm trying to find any information concerning my great-grandfather George Dillman (b. April 3, 1865). I know from my grandfather that his dad came from Kentucky around 1874 and moved (presumably with his parents) to Dillman, Indiana. I have found that there was a Sydney Dillman living in Dillman, IN at this time and Sydney & his brothers were responsible for rebuilding the church there after it was destroyed by a storm. My grandfather (born in Dillman, IN in 1912) remembers this Sydney Dillman and believed he was his uncle. However, my research shows that Sydney & his family were native to Dillman, IN and therefore, could not have been a brother to George. I have assumed that Sydney must have been a relative but I can find no confirmed genealogical connection. The only other information I have about George is that his father was married to a Cherokee Indian named "Cloud". I would appreciate any help or insight into this issue. Thank you.
