Nope Mark, I sure don't mind sharing. Just didn't want to continue if no one was interested.

To continue with Ms. Thomas' report:

Andreas [or Andrew] Dillman, who settled in Northumberland Co., PA, died about 1813. Andrew Dillman, Sr. was born in 1705.[JER-My own grandmother told me she had a grandparent who lived to be 108 years of age!] He had seven sons, but only the three youngest are known to the author of this history: [Ms. Thomas] 1] Conrad, 2] George, and 3] Andrew. Two [of his unknown sons] were killed during the Revolutionary War. George Dillman had a son, Andrew; and Conrad, Jr., who became a dentist.

Andrew Dillman, Jr., s/o Andrew Dillman, Sr. [JER-This may be where the error began ?]was born 21 Oct 1751 in the town of Northumberland, Northumberland Co., PA. By trade he was a wheelwright. In 1776 he was a taxable and single man near Freesburg, Northumberland Co., PA. The town of Freesburg is now [1930's?] in Snyder Co. [formerly Union Co.] and in colonial times was called Penn's Township, in Northumberland Co..

Andrew Dillman enlisted as a private in the 2nd PA Regt., Continental Line under Capt. Lewis Farmer, either 11 April 1775 or on 1 June 1776 [JER-maybe both ?] (both dates are given in the official Pennsylvania Archives). On 9 Sept 1778 he was a private in Lt. Col. Henry Hiller's Co., and in 1780 he was in Capt. John Stoy's Co., 2nd PA, Col. Walter Stewart's Regt. From 1790 to 1800 he was a Capt. in the PA Militia, Pennsylvania Valley Battalion. [JER- If they moved to KY in 1794/95, this statement doesn't hold true.]

On 1 Aug 1777 he married Barbara Roush, who was then in her eighteenth year, having been born 17 Dec 1759. Andrew Dillman returned to the battlefields the morning following the marriage. He was in the Battles of Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, and was at Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered. Nine [JER- should be ten] of the children of Andrew and Barbara [Roush] Dillman were born in PA. They moved to Kentucky in 1795 going by way of Pittsburgh, thence down the Ohio River in a flat boat to Limestone (later called Maysville), Mason Co. and settled in Bracken Co., KY. Andrew DIllman died 21 May 1823, and his wife Barbara [Roush] Dillman died 17 Nov 1842. Both are buried in Bracken Co., KY. Three children were born after they came to Kentucky.

More to come.

June
