Please contact me regarding your James S. Dillingham ancestry. One of my husband's ancestors's brothers probably used the Dillingham name as an alias...his real name was John Russell Holloway (b. 1856 GA) . I would love to know more about this James S. Dillingham as John Russell Holloway probably used the alias J.S. Dillingham while on the run from the law in Texas. John Holloway was a fugitive for 50 years (after a gunfight in 1879 in Erath Co., TX), then came back to Texas in 1927, died there in Callahan Co., TX on Jan. 14, 1931. John was in the Dakotas, Montana, Alaska maybe, Canada maybe and New Mexico, maybe even old Mexico. Seems John Holloway may have run into James S. Dillingham somewhere along the road. Are there any stories of this in your family history?
