Hi Pegg,
The information I have on John Dillingham is that he was born 2 July 1773 (New England - sorry to say, I do not have a specific location at this time); married 14 July 1793 Manchester, CT to Clarissa Olcott who was b 24 Dec 1773 Manchester, CT; he d 20 SEp 1861 Porter Co, IN; she d 13 May 1809 Manchester, CT.
I have Edward Dillingham b 2 Jan 1750 Newport, RI as the father of John Dillingham; I show Hannah (Sukey) Ambrose as the mother of John Dillingham.Edward Dillingham and Hannah Ambrose were m bet 1772 and 1775.I show that Edward Dillingham d 1850 Providence, RI.I show that Hannah Ambrose was b Providence, RI, but I have no death date nor location for her.
I have no more info behind the Dillingham or Ambrose line, but I have not worked on these lines for probably 5 years or longer.
I show that Samuel Olcott b 5 Mar 1742 (no location shown) m abt 1765 to Susannah Burnham b 1 Jan 1744 (no location shown).Samuel Olcott d 25 Apr 1816 Mancheseter, CT; Susannah (Burnham) Olcott d 3 Dec 1825 Manchester, CT.
I have the Olcott line going back about 4 or 5 more generations, if you are interested in that.
I have not joined Dave Wiltshire's Dillingham World.I have not heard of it.Is there anything you can share with me about that?
My interest in this line is through Amanda Page who was born 7 May 1798 NY; she m 26 Dec 1816 Huron Co, OH to Henry Dillingham; she d 2 Jan 1880 Valparaiso, Porter Co, IN.
Notes to myself:
"The marriage of Henry Dilliangham and Amanda Page is recorded in "Record of Licenses and Permits, Huron County":
"December 26, 1816, Henry Dillingham and Amanda Page of Ridgefield were joined in marriage by Saunders Littlefield Justice from Ridgefield."
In the 1870 Federal Census, Amanda (Page) Dillingham was living with her daughter Harriet (Dillingham) Kimball and her husband Harry Kimball in Center Township, Porter County, Indiana."
Amanda (Page) Dillingham was the dau of Daniel Page b 12 Sept 1769 New Fairfield, CT; he d 18 Jul 1829 Ridgefield Township, Huron Co, OH.Daniel Page m 19 Mar 1795 Pownal, Bennington Co, VT to Rebecca Moore b 31 Mar 1770 Pownal, VT; she d 18 Jul 1831 Ridgefield Township, Huron Co, OH.Daniel and Rebecca (Moore) Page were originally buried out on their family farm plot, but the bodies were moved to the large cemetery in town.
Is there any chance you might consider taking pictures of Amanda (Page) Dillingham and Henry Dillingham's grave for me, if they have stones? I would also *LOVE* pictures of Daniel and Rebecca (Moore) Page's stones, if they have stones, but I realize you don't live near them.If you know anyone in Huron County, OH, I would be most grateful if you could help me get pictures.Daniel Page has been speaking to me lately.
I descend from Daniel Page's brother, David Page. Both Daniel and David Page were Revolutionary War Soldiers.I have proven David Page to DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) but cannot prove Daniel Page to DAR, since I do not descend from him.Are you a descendant of Henry Dillingham and Amanda (Page) Dillingham? If you are, would you be interested in joining DAR? I am a Registrar and can prove that Daniel Page was a Revolutionary War Soldier.
Hope to hear from you. Please feel free to email me directly if you would like.
