Andrew: Eureka! I can't believe I found your posting. I am descended from Lois Ann Dillingham also. She was my great great grandmother. She did remarry after (Beard, Baird?) to a John Meehan of Ireland in Iowa in 1869. My line comes through their daughter Mary. I have VERY sketchy information on this line, but recently found a posting from the 1860 Federal Census in Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa that lists the family at that time as: Dillaughan, Sidney 61 farmer b. New York , Katharine 53 Keeps house b. New York , Wm. L farmer b. New York , Milard 14 works on farm b. Illinois , Nathaniel 31 farmer b. New York , Katie 20 Keeps house b. Indianna , Frances 1 at house b. Iowa , ..... 6/12 b. Iowa (obviously the census taker spelled the name wrong, or maybe the person who copied it did). Lois Ann named one of her children with John Meehan Sidney after her father. She was also married to a Shepard and had a daughter named Minnie.I'm just getting started with my Dillingham's. I have a couple of pictures of Lois Ann and would love to get more information. Can share what I have with you.
