Dillingham Family Genealogy Forum

I am interested in what you know about an Elizabeth Estes Evans. She married a Vachel Dillingham in 1807 in Lunenburg Co. Virginia. That county is on the Virginia-North Carolina border. The information about Vachel Dillingham of Christian Co., Kentucky sound familiar. My ggggranfather was married in Madison County, Kentucky in 1812 or 1811 depending on the source. Around 1820, he and his relatives and his wifes relatives moves to southeastern Missouri. I noticed that some sources have the Dillingham family finally settling in Lafayette County, Missouri. My ggggrandfather and a cousin are stated to be some of the first settlers of Lafayette County, Missouri. He is buried in Bates County, Missouri. The Estes family (my ggggrandmother) settled in Clay County, Missouri and her mothers will was files in Van Buren (now Lafaytette County) Missouri. There are other relatives that have all settled in the Kansas City, Missouri area. A James Evans was one of the first five settlers of what is now Kansas City, Missouri. He is the son of the cousin that was listed as early settlers of Lafayette County, Missouri. This later information on decendants of Vachel Dillingham was found on a site called Rootsweb.com. I would be interested in what you know about Elizabeth Estes Evans(note: There are many marriages between the Evans's and the Estes's.). Also, one site stated that they did not know Vachel's mother and only his father. It state that Vachel's father was married five times but that site only named two of his wives and did not say who was Vachel's mother.
I have only recently started reseaching other branches of my family tree. Any information would be appreciated.
Brian Evans
