David, I am tracing my mother's heritage of Dillingham. She is the daughter of George Seay Dillingham, son of William James Dillingham, son of William Winn Dillingham, son of Joshua Dillingham, son of Vachel Dillingham, son of William Dillingham, who is the son of Robert Dillingham who began the southern Dillingham line. Anyway, I've compiled a vast data file with the help of all my cousins and wanted to add it to your work. It will give you over fifty new relations since even Mrs. Haile last year didn't have any descendants of my grandfathter, George Seay Dillingham, in her files other than his listing as one of the children of William James Dillingham. What's the best way to get this file to you? There are so many questions I have about some of the ancestors that maybe you could answer. I'll have to make up a list, but just a few things, thought. What is the signifigance of the name "Seay"? No one had any idea why my grandfather was given that name, and it wasn't in any other family history either. Can you help there? Also, is there any connection of the Dillinghams to Abraham Lincoln? I know the Oates, Lincolns and the Dillinghams were all here early on and possibly intermarried, but find no record of it to date. And, lastly, has there been any connection of the Dillinghams in Southern US to the ones in either New England or the ones in Briton? The Robert Dillingham of Maryland couldn't have just appeared from nowhere. Any progress yet? I have so many more questions, but will let them go for now. If you need to call or mail me, I have included my address and phone number below. Thanks. Kathy Taylor (941)-377-4523
