I am looking for the ancestry of John Carey Dilley, born about 1835 in NY and died in 1894 in Yankton, SD. He was married in MO in 1860 to Sarah Elizabeth Moad. They lived in Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Texas, South Dakota, and maybe Nebraska or Iowa. From census information his father was born in PA and mother in NY. Family lore says he served in the Confederacy during the Civil War. Any information about JC Dilley would be helpful.
