I found the Diller name in France/Germany spelled Dellar.
On census and in forums found the Dillers with the same name and same dates but listed France on one document and Germany on another. I was totally confused until I ran across this tidbit. Haut Rhin and Basrhin in France have been part of Germany known as Ober Elsass (Upper Alsace), Unter Elsass ( Lower Alsace) and Lothringen (Lorraine) under France for all periods. I thought I'd share, maybe this will clear it up for other, also.
