Dillards - Fairfield, SC & Gwinnett, GA

Researching the Dillards of Gwinnett and Walton County, GA from 1820 through 1850. Thomas Dillard (1795-1881) married Millie Ann Stone, both buried at Old Omer Church. Thomas' father was supposedly William Dillard, but I have found no proof of this relationship other than Beulah Melton's history printed in "Gwinnett Families".

Also, in 1830, there are several Dillards in Gwinnett County that are not mentioned in Gwinnett Families. There are 3 Edmund Dillards, the oldest born 1750 - 1760, according to 1830 Census. the other two Edmunds are born 1770-1780 and about 1800. Is the oldest Edmund the same Edmund Dillard listed as next door neighbor to James Dillard in 1790 Census of Fairfield Co., SC? How do they tie to William and Thomas?

James is believed to be father of William who went to Gwinnett, and is buried at Omer Church as well, but I cannot prove it. Maybe Edmund is father of William, and Edmund is son of James from Halifax, VA then Fairfield, SC?
