Searching for elusive parents of Edward Joel. Many family trees on Ancestry.com show his parents as Lynch Dillard & Mildred Ward. Unfortunately those trees give Lynch's birth year as 1818;i.e., the same as his supposed son.
The only Edward Dillard I've run across so far was the possible father of Thomas Dillard,Sr. (1702-1784). Thos Sr was in Pittsylvania Co, VA in the 1760/70's & his son Thos,Jr(1730-1784) lived there at least thru the late 1790's .
It may be coincidence but Edward Joel & his son Americus Dillard (b 1852), whose daughter married into the Templeton line,also lived in Pittsylvania Co.
Any help in this frustrating search would be appreciated.
