I have a deed conveying 300 acres in Halifax County NC to Thomas Dillard dated 17 Sep 1760 wherein William Dillard signed as a witness. No doubt William was related to Thomas. By another deed dated 17 June 1761 Thomas Dillard was deceased and his two daughters, Mary who had married John Amis and Rebecca who had married Thomas Amis, John's brother, conveyed their interest in the 300 acres. I descend from John and Mary (Dillard) Amis and of course Thomas Dillard, Mary's father. Does anybody know this family?
