Dill of SC
Posted by: Penny Date: August 01, 1998 at 15:23:19
  of 1843

My Dills come from the valley of Harpel River in Potsdam in the German Empire. In 1732 a son of Lord Dill became aquainted with Englands George II,and then Gen. Oglethrope who was beginning to sail to America. Dill was placed in Honorable command of one of three vesssels of the King. They landed in SC, Charleston, where the general and Dill began to explore country. They came to the Savannah River where they laid out the site of Savannah Georgia. Dill lived in the Yam-a-craw bluffs for years. His son John then moved on to Ohio and Indiana.Would like to find original Dill and Johns siblings of which he had many. Any help greatly appreciated. Penny
