Coleen, I think we are researching the same Dill family line. I am off of a Lydia Dill who was a sister to Mary who married a Yoakley in Rowan County, NC. My Lydia Dill was born on 3 May 1750 in Salisbury, Rowan County, NC. and died 12 February 1830 in Wayne County, Tennessee. Lydia's tomstone says that she was the daughter of Peter Dill of North Carolina and the wife of James Copeland who was born in 1740 Virginia and died in 1811 in Madison County, Alabama - Mississippi Territory. She went to Wayne County Tenn in the late 1820's and died on the family farm in 1830. There were Dills in Wayne County in the 1820's and 1830's. A John Dill who was there wrote out my family line in his Bible in 1820.I need to discuss with you some of my thoughts and some of my research on the Dills which might clear up some of the confusion regarding this family.
