Nellie,

Our Elizabeth Dill(s) are one in the same. I requested a search of Old Swedes Church Archives a short time ago, and am pasting the reply I received below in quotes:

"To Joe Manzo

Gloria Dei Church holds the following records:

Elizabeth Dill was baptized 6-18-1774 Her parents are John & Elizabeth Dill. She was born 3-6-1774.

George Dill was baptized 6-18-1774. His parents are John & Elizabeth Dill. He was born 2-7-1772.

Unfortunately, the minister did not record the names of the godparents or any other details of the children's baptism.
I searched all five sets of Church records - baptismal, marriage, burial, communicant and confirmation. There is no other mention of Elizabeth, George, or their parents.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

I had John Dill's wife as Elizabeth Wilson...not sure where the 'Wilson' came from since it's not here in the Old Swedes records as you can see. Did that info come from Ogden Wilkinson?

My biggest stumbling block is identifying MY John Dill and his wife, Elizabeth. Well meaning folk have told me they have him, but each entry I'm given has his death date as '1766', which of course disqualifies him right away.

Yes, Elizabeth Dill married James Clark as you have indicated. They were married at St. Michael's and Zion Church in Philadelphia on 27 April 1793.

I have quite a bit of info on the descendants of Elizabeth & James if you would like to see it. Thanks.

Joe
