BARRETT, DILL, QUINBY/QUIMBY, DAVIS
Posted by: Vickie Elam White (ID *****3184) Date: October 07, 2007 at 10:19:21
  of 1692

Josiah BARRETT, b. 1688 in Chelmsford, Middlesex Co. MA to Joseph BARRETT & Martha GOULD, married Mary DILL of Concord, Middlesex Co. MA in 1711. She was a daughter of Peter DILL and Thanks SHEPARD of Concord, a twin of Peter DILL Jr. She died in Chelmsford in 1728.

Did Josiah remarry in 1731, in Brookfield, Worcester Co. MA to Catherine QUINBY/QUIMBY? Or was this a different Josiah BARRETT? Catherine was b. in Amesbury, Essex Co. MA in 1706 to Joseph QUINBY/QUIMBY and Elizabeth GATCHELL. How did she meet Josiah? Was she a resident of Brookfield and if so, why and when did she move there? Her sister Eleanor married John DAVIS and had a child b. in Brookfield in 1729. John DAVIS was b. in Brookfield in 1706 to Samuel DAVIS Jr. and Thankful CLESSON. So, it seems that both sisters ended up in Brookfield for some reason. The rest of their family stayed in Essex Co. MA or points north.

I appreciate any help.
